PEEP THIS: Proof Hip-Hop Is Alive Revealed

In my search for ever-elusive evidence that hip-hop is still alive, I have come across an important artifact that may shed light on the on-going debate on hip-hop’s continued existence.

This artifact, unearthed in the cluttered shores of the information superhighway corridor, finally gives researchers definitive proof that the reports of hip-hop’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. In fact, the exhibit may even clearly illustrates that rap is very much alive and well in some contemporary form.

After studying the above specimen since it has been discoved, its seems we have an excellent example of a ritual long thought to have become extinct: a group of males, most likely within the mic-controlious sub family, are engaging in what appears to be a competitive activity to establish verbal dominance over competitors, even peers, within the community.

In this rigid culture, the group members taunt each other over which of the males performed the greatest acts of incredible verbal and mental agility, which were subsequently captured in audio form. These “flows”, as they were once called, were judged harshly among the tribe – originality, creativity and lyrical aggression were hallmarks of the dominant members.

What makes the discovery of this specimen so exciting is that it shows three males – all obviously skilled in this traditional competitive exercise – directly battling each other for supreme stature amongst the rest of the community at large.

After uncovering many similar artifacts in the past few years, experts have recently come to believe that this kind of tradition was largely extinct; in fact, many believed the long-standing ritual of a community member establishing a dominant “flow” had all but vanished from oral and written cultural records. This is what is referred to in relevant academic journals as the “Soulja Boy Tell Em era”.

However, with this exciting new discovery, I believe this will lead us to other clues of hip-hop’s continued existence. While this specimen will undoubtedly serve as proof that hip-hop is indeed alive, more artifacts are needed to end the debate entirely.
