No One On The Corner Underwhelms Like Us
What was originally billed as a clash of the titans, turns out to be more like a game of slapboxing. The much anticipated “Jacking Swagger From Us” headed by Jim Jones featuring Lil Wayne, Twista and NOE (whoever that is). Not exactly a swaggerfest of guest spots, but OK.
Get your own piping hot fresh copy here . The beat isn’t bad, it kinda takes the essence of the original with a completely new dipset/dirty south hybrid beat. I have a few questions:
1. Why is Lil Wayne on this track if this is a response track? Isn’t that counterproductive? I guess not if your goal is more albums sales than keeping your reputation intact.
2. Who the holy hell is jacking his/her swagger from Twista?
3. Is his appearance on this track some sort of signal he’s estranged from the Roc-A-Fella crew? Guess I’ll have to check out wikipedia or something. Nah, I have a bagel to eat.
4. If you want to showcase how much swagger you have, would you not want to put one some cats that people would be impressed by, thereby increasing your swagger. Besides Weezy, who would appear on a Hanna Montana record if the money was right, this is kind of a C team lineup.
I’ll let you cats decide. If Jimmy wants to be the future of rap, he may want to stop playing catch up.
