Let Biggie Rest In Peace, Damn It

When it was first announced a while back that a movie would be made about Biggie Smalls, I was hyped. While there are some that felt that such a film would only gloss over his life in typical Hollywood fashion, I took that with a grain of salt; at least the movie studios greenlit (if that’s a word) the project – which shows they know the love the streets have for B.I.G.
But on the eve of its release, we are seeing how the road to hell is indeed paved with good intentions. Besides all the tributes and great stories we’re hearing about Biggie and his life, two washed up women in his life are stomping all over his grave. Now I understand why people are saying its “too soon.”
First, we have Lil Kim (fresh from a show in Amsterdam, a real mecca of hip-hop) spouting her mouth off about how she was portrayed in the film. Not sure if the implants have made their way to your brain, Kimberly, but this ain’t about you. Its about the life of Biggie. You lost the second you said Ms Wallace needs to be “exposed.” She hasn’t even seen the film, so I’m not sure how she can be upset with how she was portrayed.
Now one-time MC Charlie Baltimore is responding to Kim’s accusations, saying that they made have done the nasty, but Kim “wasn’t his girl.” She goes into detail about Kim’s conduct at the funeral and then uses the new attention to sht on Jay-Z and the “Commission” concept they were working on.
This is some bullsht right here. These two birds are using what should be a celebration of the man who put them both on. I get that they think a good amount of screentime should be spent covering the intricacies of their relationship (maybe the condom brands?), but they both need to fall the fu*k back.
Every time you open your mouth talking about this man’s personal business, you are detracting from who was as an artist.
Some might say that his whole life, not just his life in the booth, should be documented and explored. Yeah, well, eff them. If Lil Cease is wants to talk about the days coming up, I’m down. If Puff wants to talk about what it was like to try and get Big off the streets and into the studio, that’s cool. But two chicks trying to score more exposure for themselves because they are making a movie on his life? Disgraceful.
Kim did a bid because she refused to open her mouth. I suggest she and Charlie show the same display of loyalty now.
