Hits From the Blog
As any blogger or website owner will tell you, its hard to get attention out in these digital streets. Which often means that many quality sites with ill content get overlooked. With the periodic “Click On This” feature, YFWB shines a light in the hopes of getting you all acquainted with some of the diverse personalities in the raposphere. Hit me up if you want to chop it up. Today: Dom Corleone.

Who are you and where are you from?
Name’s Dom, I’ve repped Jersey for all my 23 years during this mysterious thing we call life.

How did you first discover hip-hop?
It was ’97, I was probably 11. At recess, one of my boys back in the day played “Gangsta’s Paradise,” “10 Crack Commandments” and some Wu-Tang cuts for me on a portable tape player and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Give me your top 5 favorite artists.
Man, this is almost impossible to answer but I’ll give it a try. We’re talking personal favorites here, right? For Hip-Hop: Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Andre 3000, Kanye West, and Redman. Nas comes in as an honorable mention. Everything else: Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Thelonious Monk, Pat Metheny (jazz guitarist) and John Coltrane.  And Jim Morrison of The Doors gets the honorable mention here.

You run a blog.  Tell YFWB readers about it.
I started my blog “”Hits from the Blog” while in college, in November ’07. I wanted to share my music writing and DJ mixes at first and now it’s evolved into a spot where I post new music, lyrical analysis, event/concert information, sneakers & fashion, and my personal rants on anything I think is relevant. I like to think of myself as a well-rounded dude so I want my blog to reflect my passion for the things I love in life.  Plus, it’s a great way to interact with like-minded folks like yourself.

Why did you decide to set up Hits From The Blog?
HFTB began as a place to post my published works in my college’s entertainment magazine and any music news/songs/lyrics/videos that I thought people might enjoy.  I also posted some of my DJ mixes from when I used to do parties at school. It was like my own publication where I was the editor, creative design, everything.

What makes your blog different than other sites?
It’s my perspective. I try to do in-depth analysis and commentary on the music I post and usually don’t just post a video or a link to a song and just leave it at that.  I don’t like to confine my blog to just hip-hop, cause I post all types of music like reggae, jazz, rock, trip-hop. I want my readers to hear my opinion and know that I’m open to discussion, even willing to argue sometimes but it’s all in the name of music.  I try to put the individual song, mixtape, whatever in context and also describe what the future holds for that artist or entertainer.  HFTB is more about interaction and discussion than strictly posting exclusives.

Have any special features coming up?
Yup. I just posted a dope mix called Blow Ya Mind! with my homie Super Woman at OhNooSheDidnt.blogspot.com and I am currently working on a collection of original jazz recordings that has been sampled throughout the history of hip-hop. Also, I’m redesigning my layout soon for a fresh look, stay tuned!

Where can people hit you up?
Hit me up at my site http://hitsfromtheblog0322.blogspot.com, on Twitter twitter.com/DomCorleone, e-mail domcorleone0322@gmail.com or AIM SN pr0pheteyez.  Good looks on the interview, I appreciate the opportunity to share my corner of the hip-hop blogosphere with everyone.  Much love, Peace!!
