I Wish Suge Was Knocked Out 15 Years Ago
After Suge Knight got knocked the eff out again last weekend, you may be laughing at this fallen tough guy. Or, if you feel like I feel, you may be shaking your damn head and wondering why someone didn’t tap that glass jaw of his 15 years ago.
As I’ve stated in previous posts, I believe that Suge Knight had a direct role in the deaths of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious BIG. Whether he paid some bangers off or contracted corrupt police to do the job, I think he was involved or at least knew the mess was going to go down. Of course, not everything Knight did was bad. Hanging Vanilla Ice over a balcony got him the seed money to start Death Row, which got us The Chronic. So we’re cool on that.
But I wonder if the two would still be alive today if dudes weren’t so afraid of Suge, which they wouldn’t of been if they knew he was so easy to lay out. Knight’s principal operating method was intimidation and bullying. Many people believe that Tupac affiliated with Death Row because it boosted his “thug” image. Would he have rolled with Suge if he had just gotten smacked around by Greg The Barber? We’ll never know.
And on it goes. Would Suge have had the juice to spark off the east/west coastal beef if he was getting clowned in the streets? As the iconic Chairman of Death Row Records, would he have been able to create such a movement with his label on the west coast? Would Dre have signed with him? Would Eazy-E had even given his star producer up? Would artists like Snoop, Daz and Kurupt even hook up with the label?
If Suge had met a similar fate all those years ago, I am convinced that Tupac and Biggie would still be alive, Dre would be doing his own thing with or without Ruthless and we would of been spared all the nonsense the fu-kery that went on during the Death Row days.
All if someone just had the guts/foresight to punch that dude in his glass jaw.
