Pray IV Album Sales, Jimmy...

THE STREETS SAY: 3.5 OUT OF 5

Nappy Afro (3 out of 5)

Summary: “This album started off good but then it had some dull moments on it in the middle and tapered a little towards the end. But still, Jim should be pleased with his effort on this album. This is not the album that will elevate Jim Jones to the King of NY status, but it still can be considered a win for the DipSet Capo, because he’s still releasing HIS type of music.  Maybe if the Dips would have been at full force on this project, the album would have been better.”

XXL Magazine (4 out of 5)

Summary: “The realer reality for Jones is that he’s finally become a mainstream fixture. Fittingly, he flosses a little more this time around. Jimmy’s actually at his best when he ditches “bling-bling” and “blam-blam” rhymes for truly transparent thoughts. With even more adventurous choices and evident spurts of maturity, Jim displays the chops to maintain his status as a compelling hip-hop figure. If he keeps this up, his reign on the top won’t be short like leprechauns.”

Hip-Hop Examiner (3.5 out of 5)

Summary: “Pray IV Reign allows fans and future fans to get a look into the mind of Jim Jones. He gets personal with almost all of his songs, adding a little conversation at the end by dropping jewels about life and doing what Jim does best, talk sh-t; but it really added a little something special to the album. What makes the album a decent album that can be played over and over again, are the beats; the beats are truly impeccable.”

HipHopDX (3.5 out of 5)

Summary: “There aren’t really any big surprises here, but honestly, did you really want any? With New York Hip Hop so underrepresented in the current market, there’s a place for Jim Jones that really isn’t being filled by much of anyone else right now and he’s filling it as well as he needs to. Jones’s cockiness still outpaces his performance to a degree, but anyone who stops by Pray IV Reign will get exactly what they paid for and you can’t be mad at that.”
