THE CONFESSIONAL: I Once Pulled An Asher Roth On Twitter
They say confession is good for the soul. Today we offer another installment of The Confessional, an ongoing feature on Your Favorite White Boy, where your man B-Double will be confessing certain things that he would not dare bring up in the company of his hip-hop brethren.
Bless me Reverend Run, for I have sinned.
It’s been way too long since my last confession.
As many heads know, Asher Roth got everybody all in a lather when he updated his Twitter status and tried to clown Don Imus. Here’s the screenshot courtesy of Eskay:

Like most rational people, I figured Mr. Roth didn’t use the latest in social networking applications to inform everyone he’s a closet racist who loves rap music. But I also understood the situation because a few months back I did the same thing. Peep game:
I was on Twitter back in February and NY rapper A. Pinks was throwing up Tweets about the new Family Guy spin off centered around Peter Griffin’s neighbor Cleveland. Here’s what happened:
@apinkmusic: Why does every black person on Family Guy have the same voice 7:48 PM Feb 4th from TwitterBerry
@YrFavWhiteBoy: @apinksmusic ’cause you all look the same to us. Lmao.
@apinksmusic: @YrFavWhiteBoy I’m not even sure if that’s funny or not 7:53 PM Feb 4th from TwitterBerry
@YrFavWhiteBoy: @apinksmusic Meant to be. Probably wasn’t.
After that, I kept it the hell moving. Trust me, I felt like a moron after I saw Pinks’ initial response. I was just trying to be funny (my friends – of all difference races and backgrounds – clown about how stupid racism is and we mock it like that all the time), but I quickly realized that its serious subject.
Especially online, people don’t know you or your intentions. I can’t expect a dude like A. Pinks – someone I interviewed and Tweeted to occasionally, but doesn’t really know me – to understand what my intent was. I actually felt so bad that I considered e-mailing Pinks for weeks to apologize. But he seemed to have moved on, so I just dropped it. Lesson learned, for sure.
So, I get how a casual comment trying to get a laugh can turn into something completely different and unintentional.
From now on, I’m stick to finding humor in self-important “celebrity” rappers and their weak product.
In the name of the Father MC, God’s Son and the Holy Ghostface.

Good job. I tend to do the same online. At least you dropped it….The news peeps need to drop this Swine Flu b/s.
Suprised the pause police didnt bust ur ass..they normally hold a grudge.
his comment was questioning racism, as in, “why don’t they use more than one voice actor for black characters?”
but your comment was indulging in it, “because we don’t care abt black characters voices!! lmao!!”
but see, that’s not funny. if you approach racial humor from the perspective of questioning or criticizing racist stuff rather than supporting it, it’ll go over better.
At least you manned up to your mistake, B-Dub !!
